Susie Rogers B.A. Integrative Counselling Dip. Couns. Skills. M B A C P

I am a qualified counsellor and a member of the BACP. For several years I have been a Samaritan, working both on the telephone and person to person. Additionally I worked in Wandsworth Prison listening and talking to the prisoners, as well as training prisoners to be “Listeners” which are the prison equivalent of Samaritans. Amazingly enjoyable work, in such a harsh place full of problems it is still possible to have a sense of camaraderie and a few laughs. Presently I am working in a GP’s surgery where I am referred a wide variety of clients. I also work at Woking Hospice counselling the bereaved and pre-bereaved.

I offer clients support through -
Troubling emotions - such as depression and low self esteem
Stress and Anxiety - fear of failure or traumatic events
Relationship Issues - such as difficulty in finding and sustaining relationships. Separation or bereavement
Destructive Habits - negative body image and addictions

I give support, empathy and understanding. Maybe I cannot solve their practical problems, but I can walk alongside them when life is too difficult so they will not feel alone with their problems. The counselling relationship is a very special one, it can be a huge relief to have that confidentiality in which to unburden yourself and talk through your feelings and thoughts.
I work with several therapeutic approaches both short and long term to suit the client.

Nessa, Marie & Susie are members of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP) and work within and are bound by its Ethical Framework for Good Practice.

Jules' specialist areas:

Eating Disorders: anorexia, bulimia, binge eating and obesity.

In addition to my general practise I have had considerable success in helping people overcome their obsession with food using a combination of therapeutic approaches such as Integrative; reparative and psychodynamic, Motivational Interviewing and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)

This is a quote from a client who suffered from anorexia and bulimia:

No amount of words can really describe what Jules did for me. Despite her adamants that it was me who helped myself, I will always maintain that she stopped me from slipping away entirely, into the dark place in which I was trapped. Words only serve to make my experience sound trivial, but quite frankly, she saved me.
